Biography
Stuart Olstad is a partner with Christensen Fonder Dardi P.A. with practice focusing on patent prosecution and advising on validity and infringement issues. Stuart has significant prosecution experience and providing opinions in technologies involving medical devices, instrumentation, materials sciences, software and the mechanical arts. Portfolio management of medical devices includes ablation catheter, spinal implant, and blood filter technologies. Other technology areas in which Stuart has significant patenting experience include farm implements, semiconductor packaging, and firearms.
Stuart brings to his practice more than 20 years of experience in the fields of mechanical and aerospace engineering. Prior to law school he was a scientist at Lockheed Missiles and Space Company’s Materials Research Laboratory, where his research included characterization of infrared signatures and development of cryogenic focal planes. Stuart also worked for FluiDyne Engineering Corporation, designing and installing measurement systems for wind-tunnel test facilities and air-flow test benches, and researching innovative approaches for gas-to-liquid conversion in the petrochemical industry. Stuart is the inventor on two issued U.S. patents.
